About Us
We are Barb and Sue, we live in a dog loving family in South West Victoria. We have both had a love of dogs from a young age having grown up with them.
Barb has been involved with the Delta Therapy Dog Society having trained three of her dogs for the program, obedience dog training and now works as Pet Educator in The Responsible Pet Education Program with our Spoodle Tucker. This involves taking Tucker into schools and kindergartens teaching children how to care for their own dogs as well as approach dogs they don't know.
Sue grew up on a farm with working dogs, Border Collie’s were her favourite breed until we got our first Australian Cobberdog Penny! Now she has two favourites!!
We decided to also go into the world of breeding these beautiful dogs as Sue had always had an interest in breeding dogs but the time had never been right until she met Barb.
With Barbs knowledge and experience of dogs we set about looking for a breed that we both would enjoy and on our search we found Australian Cobberdogs.
We found they are the perfect mix, the intelligence similar to the Border Collie and a dog that really loves being around people like the Spoodles. When Penny joined our little fur family she did not disappoint!
We believe what sets us apart as breeders is our love and commitment to our pups and their new families by providing a lifetime of support from us.
In our ethical breeding program we focus on giving the pups the best start in life with early neutralisation and desensitisation including crate training, toilet training etc so they go to their new homes happy, well rounded and confident. We also love hearing what our pups are get up to with their families if they wish to.
Despite being a small breeder we are committed to help develop the breed. Our aim is to breed sound quality dogs that are health and dna tested.
Spring Hills Moonlit Penelope Grace
Meet Penny, she is our first Australian Cobberdog and will be the foundation for our breeding program. So far Penny has been a joy and watching her develop every day is wonderful.
Her personality is always happy, inquisitive, calm but fun, very busy and a typical puppy. She has a nature like no other, loves the other dogs and our cats and has really captivated everyone she has met so far.
She's very inquisitive and watches knowingly everything that goes on. She has learnt the ropes extremely quickly and slotted into our family life like she's always been here.
Penny loves water and loves to swim and paddle board with us in Summer and winter if she had her way!!
Penny has smarts like we have never soon before quite often making her own games to occupy herself. her disposition is alway happy and she just goes with the flow and loves life.

How we raise our puppies
Our puppies are born and raised in our home.
We have an inside nursery and an outside puppy area.
We do lots of things with the puppies
to help them become
the very best k9 companion for their families.
This includes some early neural stimulation and as they develop
we desensitise and neutralise puppies to absolutely every we can.
Puppies go to homes crate trained and well on thier way to being toilet trained.
We pride ourselves on our puppies being well rounded and
confident when they leave us.
We only raise one litter at a time so we can put all of our time into them.
Each puppy gets lot of individual attention and time spent on them.
Cobberdogs
love the water
Penny and all the Cobberdogs we know have a great affinity with the water and swimming comes very natural to them.
Our Dog Family
Below are some photos of our dogs enjoying life with us.
Lacy Bronson and Tucker are Spoodles.
Sally is a Border Collie and The Cobberdogs are Penny, Laddie, Ripley and Cowboy.
Our lives revole around our dogs and we include them in most aspects of our lives.
Sadly we lost our two older Spoodles in 2022
but they were instrumental in bringing us to our breeding journey.

We don't sell our puppies on a first come first serve basis. With the help of Right Paw you can view more about us and make an enquiry via our Right Paw Profile.
Please note we are only accepting applications through Right Paw for other queries about the breed or enquiries about becoming a guardian please use one of our methods of contact at the bottom of the page.
Guardian Homes
A Guardian Home is a permanent home for one of our breeding males or females.
Here at Pentuckylou Australian Cobberdogs we believe that every dog deserves to have a loving, forever home. All of our dogs are part of our family and live in our home rather than kennels so that we know they are getting as much attention as possible. Because of this we will offer a Guardian Home Program. We think the dogs in our breeding program deserve a home of their own from the beginning.
The puppy is then raised by her or his forever family and comes back to us to have a litter or two of pups when the dog is old enough to do so. There is a contract and terms and conditions to be followed by us and the new owners till which time the contract ends.
There is financial benefit to the guardian home so If you think this is something you would be interested in or like more information about please email us or reach out on our socials to get a better understanding of what's involved. Ideally we would love our guardian dogs to be within a three hour radius from where we live.
